Back in November 2007 the news hit that economic armageddon was upon us and our telephone stopped ringing for a few days. Then it started ringing constantly and hasn’t stopped since!

It seems that because Mercedes owners have now realised that throwing money down the drain by changing their car every few years is no longer acceptable and neither is paying main dealer’s exorbitant prices.

So, everyone began looking for the cheaper alternative and naturally that’s us! We have seen a massive increase in the number of customers who are prepared to invest in older vehicles in order to keep them safe and reliable and it’s a delight for us to be able to do it.

We’ve has some staff changes recently; one technician that had been with me for 10 years had to go back to his home country of South Africa but he’s been replaced by a technician who has worked for Mercedes Brentford for 10 years so I’m glad to have him on the team.

I also have a new workshop manager as Bryan, the incumbent, is retiring. Bryan has been a great help to me in these busy times but I’m confident that Mike, the new manager, will be able to fill his shoes.

I’m looking forward to the start of the new F1 season but don’t hold much hope of Lewis and Mercedes doing well.
